We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Consumer Growth to shape our B2C marketplace strategy. You’ll navigate the product and growth strategy across multiple verticals. This includes leading the growth and optimisation of Transactional Services and listing performance while ensuring supply & demand balance to unlock value for both buyers and sellers. You’ll work in the intersection of commercial and product, leading on pricing and monetisation whilst collaborating closely with execs, product, marketing and finance to deliver initiatives at pace. About the role:
Reporting directly to the Managing Director (Consumer) as a Head of Consumer Growth you’ll lead consumer vibrancy at Gumtree. This includes driving sustainable marketplace growth by owning and enhancing key metrics such as listings, replies, and onsite revenue. You’ll spearhead the development and expansion of our Transactional Services, elevating user experience while unlocking new monetisation opportunities. Your strategic focus will include owning a portfolio of product initiatives to maximise engagement and revenue. Additionally you'll conduct supply-demand analyses to improve liquidity, and identifying opportunities to better meet user needs. Success in this role hinges on your ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Technology, and Operations teams to deliver impactful marketplace strategies and execute key initiatives. We are building at pace - you’ll be the commercial owner for all initiatives across our B2C platform leading new product development from concept to launch, driving innovation and commercial success.

What are we looking for?
- Extensive experience in marketplace or digital platform leadership, with a strong understanding of consumer vibrancy and monetisation.
- Proven track record in developing and scaling transactional services or digital products.
- You’ll be an expert in go-to-market, marketplace dynamics in a fast growth marketplace or ecommerce scale-up along with a passion for creating impactful consumer experiences.
- You’ll have sound expertise taking new products to market and driving revenue and adoption.
- You’ll be technically fluent and skilled in influencing engineering and product teams to deliver commercial products that meet the needs of the UK user base.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills – you’ll demonstrate data-driven mindset and how that insight can be turned into action / outcomes.
- We are moving at pace, so will you. From multiple conflicting priorities to strategy and execution you are competent in managing product portfolios and adapting to changing market dynamics.
